Our Volunteers
Managing our five defibrillators is very much a team effort. It's not just a case of siting a defibrillator and hoping that it will be fully functional if it's ever needed. We, and South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) need to know, in real time, which defibrillators are operational and those which, for one reason or another, are non-operational. This is where our volunteers play a vital role. They visit their respective defibrillator not less than once per month and often weekly. They then log into the Community Heartbeat Trust (CHT) Dashboard and, answering a series of questions relating to both the defibrillator and the cabinet, send a report to both SCAS and CHT to provide them with the availability status of the defibrillator.
The project committee thank the following residents for supporting their communities by being our 'defib checkers'. Please say 'Thank you' if you see them out and about checking their defibrillator.
